Member meetings

Get excited, everyone! There are several upcoming events that are sure to bring fun, laughter and smiles to our members and international visitors.

For the first time, we have organized a new hosting member orientation that is open to new and experienced members. We hope this orientation will allow members to ask any questions they may have about their responsibilities as match partners. The orientation will take place just before members are able to meet their international student or scholar for the first time.

Following the orientation will be a welcome reception where partners can socialize and get to know one another. We believe this will be a great way to get to know your partner in a comfortable setting. Plus, the event allows members and international visitors to meet other people within the program.

In the fall (usually October), we host our annual picnic at Lake Lemon. All of the families pitch-in and bring a dish to share. There are games, food and potential pontoon boat rides around the lake. This has always been a group favorite! Then in October, we have arranged to meet at the Farmers’ Market so that we can stock up on good fruits and vegetables, socialize and provide updates on how the school year is going.
